Wait a minute! Are you telling me that all this time there has been another way?
There is lol but each to their own if he wants to go around licking koi all day, then thats up to him, personally I'd sooner lick an ice lolly.
The best way to sex a koi is to look at the shape of the vent, the female koi have a line running from head to tail which has another line running across at the tail end.
The male koi do not have this cross peice just a line running head to tail.
But until your used to sexing your koi it's a little hard to distinguise one from the other, practice makes perfect so to speak and after a while it becaomes easy to sex them both.
