Ha Ha koiguy, I hope it is a fake! I read where Golden Eagles are between 8 - 15lbs and can only carry about 4 -5lbs of weight. How would they get the eagle to attack on command if it is a fake?............well I guess it could be a trained eagle...........anyway the video was a shocker till it's cover was blown

lol got me until I read more, was wondering how the bird picked up a kid!
Almost lost a yorkie (4lb) to an eagle in colordo. I threw up my arms and yelled, the eagle broke off its dive.

Makes me wonder now if a hawk could carry a cat away? Prolly not as the cat would freak out and claw it to death

Eagles are big enough for rabbits, cats, small dogs big fish etc. Hawks go after small birds, mice, etc. At least the hawks I know of.

Actually they can go up to 25lbs but in nature are usually lighter. Not sure where you found that their limit for prey was 4lbs. They have confirmed kills of coyotes, foxes, goats and sheep and carrying them off. In falconry they have actually been used to hunt and kill wolves.

A 10-15 lb baby is probably doable for them. In the video he was clearly climbing with the kid. I think he just dropped it cause the people were getting to close and he couldn't climb fast enough.

I don't think a cat would have a chance against the larger hawks if one choose to go after a cat. The hawks and falcons attack differently then Eagles. Hawks tend to dive and take their prey by surprise with a single, high speed strike, aka Peregrine Falcons and Ospreys which have can hit prey at very high speeds. Its the speed plus talons that make the kill. I think Peregrines have been clocked in excess of 150 mph in their dives. A cat wouldn't, (or other prey) even know what hit it until it was to late unless they just got lucky and turned their head at the last second to see it.

Eagles tend to injure with their talons when they strike but they grab on and hold. Then they either climb and drop the prey to their death, or hold them down and tear them apart with their beak. Eagles have very few enemies and none in the avian world except other Eagles. They are also totally unethical and will steal food from other birds including carrion from vultures. Obviously a defenseless baby is right up their alley.
