Well, moved home to my parents farm, and decided to overhaul the sesspool of a pond ( frogs love it's brown water, but I didn't!). Cleaned out 10 years of decay- ugh what a job!! Bought a laguna 3200 filter and laguna 2000 pump. Refilled pond, replanted water lillies after dividing them, building waterfall today. Looks awesome so far!

Hello all! Here are some pictures of the pond redo project. Today I started the waterfall....hours of cutting roots to get the ground ready. ( yes, that is Bamboo around the pond!! My dad planted it years ago....it is a royal PITA!!!! ) Took the tractor to the creek and got some nice rocks- set them in place just to see how it flowed. Definitely needs some engineering :)- will continue to work on it tomorrow. A question- While redoing the rock edge, a fair amount of dirt fell into the pond. Now the bottom is a mess!! Tried to shopvac it out- but forget that! Will this get picked up by my filter if I stir it up? What else can I do? I have no fish yet- so no worry there. I am not expecting a crystal clear pond- but it def. is not a good way to start!! Any help will be appreciated!! Thanks

you can run that hose going into the pond into a basket filled with quilt batting to clean out all the fine stuff .You will have to clean it often though .
