Just completed my first DIY pond build - found this forum after!

Located in Melbourne, Florida- decided to build a small pond DIY with the help of a pond kit. Cheaped out on the large boulder rocks, but still needed some because of the loose sandy soil we have here in Florida. Used a lot of smaller river boulders and pea gravel from Home depot. Lost some volume/depth due to having to do sloping sides because of the smaller gravel versus large boulders. KOI have been added, but they are shy right now, guess it will take some time before the associate me with their food. the kids helped out quite a bit with the digging and shaping.

Nice pond you built.

The only heads up is your koi will outgrow the pond. They do get big

Welcome !!! Love the pond. Looks great. We had our grandson help with our pond. Kids love being part of the finished project.

Nice looking pond! That's a lot of little rocks and it does a good job of hiding the liner.
