Okay, so far we really like the skippy we set up in our big pond and now we are getting frustrated with the little pond setup. What size skippy would I need to make for a 300 gallon pond with 3 big goldfish and 1-3 red eared slider turtles (they kinds wonder a little so we are never sure where they are)? I was guessing a 10-15 gallon container but maybe that is too much too little??????

Help!!!

you can get a 40 gal stocktank for $30.00 at TSC (tractor supply company) its not a rubbermade. check it out on line.. so why not go larger and have piece of mind.you cant have too much filtration, and as the doc said bigger is always better.. and exspecially with turtles... or my first skippy was a 27 gallon"tuff stuff" extra heavy duty tote from Lowes they are $17.00 and stronger than normal totes. i believe oldmarine uses the same one.

Not sure if we have that much room. We did a 50 gallon stock tank for our 1000 gallon pond (which seems to be working pretty good). I will have to post some pics of my setup when I get the chance.

IN totally unrelated conversation.....it was raining really hard the other day and "Bullet", one of my big koi, was jumping straight up out of the pond! Perhaps she was trying to eat the rain (thought it was bugs) but she looked just like the great whites in Africa when they leap :.P

Here is the small pond (kinda torn up at the moment). I want a waterfall/skippy filter on the left side but don't know how I could hide anything larger than a 15 gallon?

Not sure what she is (think it's a she cause she got so big so fast). Got her from an aquarium when she was tiny and have had her 3 years. We named her Bullet cause she was like a speeding bullet. This was the best pic I could get cause she never sits still.

Looking online she looks alot like a Kin Matsuba, but is most likely just a domestic mutt. But she is my mutt!!! Seriously she has a fabulous personality and is the most entertaining fish in the pond. The large blue (ghost?) koi behind her is Baby. One of the two of them (or both of them maybe) is the parent to the baby koi (you can see one above bullet). Never thought I would get so attached to fish!

yeah, she is almost in between the 2 colors actually. That is probably the "mutt" in her. She might be a boy (because she is so active) but I am positive that the blue one is a female (she was so bloated right before the babies showed up last spring). I still have so much to learn about everything pond but I think this might be a life-long hobby so I'll just Google till I understand :disappointed_anim: I would love to get some butterfly koi or some of the ones with the glittery fins in the mix eventually (had one but the egret got it) .
