You may indeed have to replace it sooner than you wish. In the future, look at EPDM+underlay, or HDRPE as they are standards when making a pond. They'll be more expensive than what you have but there's a reason for that, too. Hopefully, you get the full 25 years and we can then add this type liner to our suggestions list.
