Good morning!
Brand new to this forum so hello everyone!

Ok so I have recently purchased my first house and have inherited a pond. It's about the size of a bath and It was full to the brim with gunk, and rubbish, so I have emptied and cleared the whole thing out. About 3/4 weeks ago I filled it up with water, cleaned out the filter and have had it up and running since with no problems. Water is crystal clear (so far) There was numerous frogs already in it and I have placed 2 goldfish who have been happily swimming about for 2 weeks now.
I have put 3 plants in there which I'm hoping will start growing soon!

I have uploaded a picture of my pond, I'm looking for any ideas as to how I can hide the horrible filter and more importantly the hose which carries water to the waterfall you can see? It's the first thing you see when you look at the pond and isnt very pretty! I'm sure you can see in the photo.

I have read about gravel which I thought may hide it but that seems to be a big no no!
Any ideas would be great!

Ross

I'm guessing you are referring to the light colored tube across the pond bottom. You could switch it out for black pipe or just leave it and let the algae cover it.

Welcome to the forum
You can move the pump to the near edge of the pond and conect it just below the 90 , and get rid of the hose

Yes the white tube. I like the sound of a black tube, I will pop into a few different local pond shops and see if they have any. Thank you
I did think about shortening the tube and bringing it nearer the side however it's also a fountain, so would probably be best in the middle.

I would switch to black hose and the more flexible stuff. I can't tell if what you have is flexible or not but I had some white hose for awhile that wasn't flexible at all and was kind of a pain in the butt.
Then you can run it along the edge of the pond and hide it behind some water plants and maybe a few rocks.

I ran my hose around the top edge of the pond and buried it a bit and covered it w/my rock edging. I do have another black hose attached to the pump that runs along the bottom of the pond attached to a prefilter and I can't see it as it's down about 3ft deep and blends in w/the black liner.

Yes, I use sump pump hose too and it is the cheapest option for sure. The "pond hose" I bought a couple years ago started falling apart after one year, not to mention it was more expensive.
