I am constructing a new raised koi pond. 2m squared and 3 foot deep. Need advice on appropriate filter and how to construct a seperate plant pool for water to run through plants before entering pond.

Advice is much appreciated!

Welcome! You will find all you need to know here. I would build yourself a doc style filter and get yourself a good pump. Spend the extra for a low wattage pump and the saving in your power bill will offset the extra pump cost in no time. Sequence pumps seem to be the best deal going for the price. There are a few threads on bogs here, there was one active last week. I will try to find them.

Welcome to the group!

What kind of bog? As a bog filter? or just to have plants in and help the pond. There are multiple ways to build one.

Or just a place for floating plants, potted plant not a bog..............You want to have the water work through the bog or plants before it goes back into the pond for the best filtration.

Thanks for replying..

Ive been reading running water from the filter through a seperate plant pool (assume thats a bog) then into the pond and that it will halp with water clarity..

As for filters Ive been advised to go for the Laguna Clearflow 12000 or the Oase Filtoclear. Any thoughts???

Pond looks epic! I wish i had the space

I don't know anything about store bought filters, a lot here build their own, check the diy section.

Having plants will help keep your water nice. Either just plants in water or plants in a bog. A bog is more of a water garden, pea gravel with plants, that has water run through it. Or a plant pond is just water with plants floating or in pots that the water runs through.

Yes exactly a bog is what im thinking of. As space is a bit restricted can the bog be of any size or is there a minimum size?

It can be any size you want to make it.
