Anyone planning a new pond or upgrade for 2010? We just ordered liner and pump for a new pond. We currently have an 8' gazebo next to our pond and it is in danger of collapse so figure removing it will give us a large enough area for a new pond. Plans are for 10'X10'x4' deep. Hopefully most underground but partially above ground as we have NO level ground here. Hoping the weather will hold up here for a while so the site prep can start this winter. Long range plans to link the 2 ponds together but thats a long way off! 150-200 gallon stock tank skippy filter also on this winters list off projects.

i see your building a stock tank filter,, be sure to build it with a waterfall weir instead of a pipe or hose outlet, then you can put it pond side and have your falls without fear of leaks.
i took these pix with the top flat stones off to show the weir the weir is 10" wide,1&1/2" in opening heigth and with the weir extension on almost 20" out. that opening is equivalent to a 4" round opening but allows you to maintain a higher water level in filter,,,,,you can see the top of the filter filled with hiacynths for veggiy filtration and hiding the filter.
