New Old Pond

Hello to everyone at Garden Pond Forum.

My first post, and i will introduce myself, i am Shawn, my wife is Limy pronounced, Lee Mee.
We have a 10 x 20 foot area where our vegetable garden use to be, my wife and i are no longer interested in this garden, so, we decided on building a Koi pond.

We live in South Western Ontario Canada, so we think we would enjoy the pond longer then the garden. The area where the garden was is where i will start digging tomorrow, i have the triple mix out of the garden and ready to dig for the liner, should be a fairly easy dig, mostly sand with no trees near this area, so roots shouldn't be a problem.

I bought a 4 year old 45mil liner pumps and filters hoses for, the liner, filters, pumps, need to be cleaned, could someone let me know the safest way to clean it?
I also have a bunh of flat rock from the Niagra Escarpment, that i would like to build one, maybe two water falls.

The pond was roughly 8 foot around and 4 foot deep.

I will have a look around this forum for ideas,and info.

may not be big enough for koi mine are 9 years old and over 2 feet long ,plus they need more filtering and are fussy about water quality

Yep and goldies are great and so are fantails .I just wish someone had told me how big they get
