We moved into a new house in November and have had clear water all winter. Now that the temps are rising, our water is murky. We have about 1,000 gallons and 4 small koi.

Welcome and that will happen no matter who you are and what filter you have running ,it is just from the temps going up and down like crazy ,longer days ,more sunshine and rain .You just have to get you filter going and hope and pray to the pond gods that it gets clear again .I use quilt batting to pick up all the fine stuff coming out of the filter .Believe it or not that murky stuff is fine particles that the batting will pick up .Just takes a lot of rinsing of the quilt batting .I hose mine off and then soak it in peroxide and keep at least 2 pieces going when ones soaking the other goes in .Remember city water has to be treated .Get some solar salt also from a hardware store ,blue bag .If i remember there is a thing on here that tells you how much per gallon

Sissy..thanks for the advice. The pond is clearing up now-slowly! At least we can see the fish now. We have decided to let nature take its course and let it clear up naturally. Just trying to keep the filters cleaned while all the muck clears out. Thanks to everyone for welcoming us! Can't wait to work with the calculators...
