New Large Koi feed and tips

Have just introduced 12 large Koi to my garden pond. Was hoping for some advice on the best feeds and whether there is a benefit in changing the feed relative to season. Also, should anyone have a great idea to deter the dreaded heron I would be most grateful

I don't have koi, just goldfish and use fall food and then summer food.

I had to put a net up over my fish, nothing else worked for me. It is wide weave netting high up on stakes w/a low wire fence that it is secured to.

Same with me, I agree, netting is ugly but it's also the only thing that prevents heron AND raccoon from stealing a free meal.
I use a tree netting around the bottom, secured with rocks.

What size pond do you have where you added twelve large koi?

I took a slightly different approach i don't have the next over the pond i have the net around the pond taking away the herons flight path and i do have a couple wires running over head but they are at a minimum of ten feet high. They are big clumsy birds i have seen them hanging from a tree by the neck .
