Hi all,
I am a newbie... "I know" Anyways, i have done some research on the building process and it sounds like a great project. I spend most of my time outside in the vegatable garden and yard. I have several questions! I want to build a quality pond with good components.
I would like to use a high volume pump or two to ensure adequate circulation. What brand of pump is to be the best for me.? I will be building a "skippy filter" and a skimmer. I am in the construction business so these shouldnt be a problem. But, from what I have read is, the PUMP is the heart of the pond. I really do not want any heart attacks...
Any Tips and tricks, suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

I picked up a external Sequence750 4200 model and am happy so far, Its 1/8 hp should save $$$$. I was using some internal Mag Drives, 1800, 2400. The 1800 is still in use on a smaller filter. I would spend two years worth of pond allowence on your pump. You will be glad you did in the end. I have now purchesed 4 pumps, 1 which was a $70 piece of junk off ebay, 2 mag drives@$350, and now my Sequence which was a little over $300. I should have spent the money up front. You are right the pump is the heart and the filters are the lungs. Go bigger on both!

Welcome to the forum, Watson. Just want to put in my 2 cents worth. If you're going with a submersible, check out the Laguna line. I've had a 926 gph one running on an indoor goldfish tank for about 7 years with no problems, and it only uses 65 watts. Something to consider! John
