Hi! We bought a house a few months ago that came with a great fish pond full of goldfish and a few koi. I'm joining to learn about the best way to care for the fish, do pond maintenance and keep the herons away :) Here's a pic of our setup...

Beautiful pond set up and love that fish! Looks like you have fishing line up criss cross trying to deter the heron now. I find w/that they can still just fly to the side and walk right up and still enjoy the sushi bar. I had to resort to a net connected to a short fence around the bottom edge. Nothing else worked for me.

I hope the previous owner left you some cliff notes. Every pond is so differeant . Same basic principales but the little tweeks can cause a lot of greef .
