We are moving in the spring, & am already planning my (our) "new" pond build.
I will be constructing a nice Koi pond prob 5' deep, maybe 10'x20'.
2 Bottom drains & 1 overflow.
Now my question, Can we Canadians build a Concrete pond? or will it crack in the winter, do to the frost?
If I can, how do you seal the concrete?
If the concrete doesn't work, I was able to pick up a 100' roll of rubber liner, crazy cheep. Only problem is its only 6' wide.
Can I use this roll & just seam it together, or am I better off to get a big piece.
Funny I'm excited to get the pond started & we don't get the new place till March, & cant dig till April anyway! lol

It may be possible to build a durable concrete pond in your area, but it is not a DIY project. You should consult someone who constructs swimming pools in your area for further information. The short answer is no to concrete.

Seams have a significant chance of failing and each seam makes a strip of liner that doesn't want to fold where you need it to. Even if you could seam the liner, that piece isn't big enough. You need a piece ~ 24'x34', and you can't make it from your piece.

well you could always use that liner for your stream and under your filter tank .You could have one really great filter stream for helping to clean and aerate your pond .We all seem to love streams and want one .
