hi,

I am brand new to ponds and know very very little about them. We moved into a new house with a beautiful pond in the garden.

Unfortunately we are about to extend which means we will be losing the pond. Our gardener seems to think it is a fairly expensive pond and the rocks etc are quite expensive so we should think about selling anything we can.

Could anyone advise? Do people generally sell the rocks/pumps etc and is there any resale value?

See attached some pictures I took today for an idea. Any thoughts would be really appreciated!

Rocks, at least in my experience, cost a lot when bought from landscapers and garden centers, and those are generally smaller rocks around here. The ones you have could probably go for a lot more. I would recommend trying to sell them. You could give somebody a good deal.

Sad to see you have to lose the pond. There is no better addition to my house than my pond.

Hmmm... I was going to say that you might be lucky to find someone to come and haul the rocks away for free. We paid more than I would care to admit for some of our rocks, but those were mainly "3 man boulders". Most of our rocks were much cheaper - the biggest cost was actually the delivery.

The other equipment probably has value - look around craigslist and see if you can find any similar equipment listed. Or check on retail price for a comparative value. But like anything you sell used, you will get pennies on the dollar. Again, your best bet might be to offer it for free to anyone who's willing to come and un-install it and haul it away.
