Of course our pond is man made. The edges look okay to good yet I would truly like for our pond to look as if it were a natural pond. My primary concern is the area at waters edge. As you will see on the attached image the rounded stone areas are pleasing but the side where the pond is bordered by the flat stones screams "help me look more natural".

All suggestions appreciated. I'm a big boy so don't hold back. :D

I agree w/Kim Lou and think it looks wonderful just the way it is. If you wanted to add some kind of creeping plant that kind of sprawls off into the pond from the soil around the pond you could do that. Is that what you are looking for..............more plants?

Pretty pond! I agree - I think you've done a lovely job of creating a nice secluded, natural looking pond. Are you talking about the edge at the front of the photo? It looks like a nice spot to walk up to and enjoy the pond up close. But some creeping plants would help soften and break up the rocks, if that's what you're looking to do. It looks shady enough that you might even be able to get some moss to grow?

I was thinking like everyone else. Do you have any other pictures, different angles, etc. to give us a better idea of what you're not happy with? It all boils down to what YOU like, so we gotta try and get in your head, LOL :)

Hummm, might think about successional plantings, so there's something perking all year round.

Something dramatic to create reflections, perhaps an iris or variegated Japanese Rush. Touch of whimsy, perhaps nasturtium, mind your own business, scuttling along a dull side...

A waterlily that blooms would be a perk

Looks great to me too, just add more plants if you think you need to soften the edge some more
