I build my pond in the back yard new liner and pump every look good the pump was working I went to the store came back the water in the pump area was low and there was a little flow and a little water in the pump area I would like to know what is making the water leave where the pump is

Is there some good advice out there about ponds and pumps and why the water leaves the pump area when it should be stain in so the flow can go down your rocks, but the water in the pump area is disappearing after you fill it up an hour later is down low and the pumps just running, but no water is coming out of the waterfall

Check for low edges and holes. if it's done draining, the hole is likely just above water level. If no low edges or holes, check your plumbing to see if anything came apart or has holes.

Thank you there’s still is some water in the pump area. I fill it yesterday and it’s down low. I’m wondering what is causing that new liner pump it seems like the water if I keep putting water in it it will pump good, but if I wanted to run by itself. I need to check it within an hour because the water will be out of the top of the pump and is down low.

sounds like possibly air is getting sucked in is there a vortex/ whirlpool at thee intake?

How deep is your pond, and do you know the volume?
What kind of liner did you use?
What kind of pump do you have?

Can you please post some pictures?
