VH, don't take this the wrong way....how often do you do water changes????those very large bubbles are possibly the result of D O C's-Dissolved Organic Compounds...they are a visual trigger to let you know it is getting close....that is a fair sized herd you have going there....nice, btw, ...and if you feed that many fish A LOT when you feed, it allows for the doc's to accumulate pretty quickly....with Spring being upon us, I am sure the pollen there is adding to the situation as well...besides the bog,.what kind of filtration do you have going on...inquiring minds want to know....Billy

My bog is just one part of the filtration... we need to start the waterfall that will also have fitration along with the skimmer with filtration. My pond is 3000 gallons and yes it is overpopulated..

I am guilty of it and it looks cool but overpopulated has it's disadvantages....namely poor growth...you may think you are feeding them enough but you are supposed to feed about 3% of the fish' total body weight a day for good growth...and you would need a really active bio system....by active i mean lots of surface areas worth of media for proper nitrification to be able to support that many fish...i am expecting good growth this yr as i am putting a good bit of my not so nice fish in my aquaponics system and that will give my better fish more gallons per fish which also equates to more food and better growth as well...Billy...btw....ova and sperm fall into the doc category...only thing i know worse than pollen guaranteed to eff up your water...LOL...
