My DIY bio filter

Well I got it to work after a few tries. Had to put in a bigger 2" pvc pipe for the draining into the waterfall but it works! I used a 10 gallon rubbermaid tub (going to paint it brown for now) a couple bulk heads, some adapters and such, 3/4" pvc, a very course furnace filter (one inch thick) then some 2" thick pads for outdoor chairs which are a finer polyfiber.

a 10 gallon filter is pretty small...how big is the pond its filtering? it doesnt sound like you relly have much for bio media..just my 2 cents!!.

you really don't have to glue your fittings unless they are under pressure .Most times I just push them together tightly ,so I can take them apart if the set up does not work for me .If you like the set up then you can glue them so you won't have to worry .Pvc is cheap but if you keep changing it not so cheap .
