My wife and I want to build a water feature for water noise.
Our idea is to build it on the surface of our yard with a retaining pond of 12-18" and a cone style waterfall in the center of it.

We have looked around our smaller town and don't seem to find any interlocking blocks to use so that leaves us with standard blocks of all types or flagstone or something of that nature.

Our question is this~
For a low wall height of that 12-18" with a liner and pond behind it, are we going to have to motar the walls of the pond? I am assuming so but I just don't know.

I don't remember seeing that block there but I don't understand how it would support a wall either.
Maybe I had better take another look and try to see how it works.

That's a retaining wall block. You find them in outdoor garden. There's a lip on the bottom of each block that fits over the block below it. There are also some retaining wall blocks that use pins. For 12-18" these will work fine.

OH, OK, that explains a bit more than the pix and description does.
I will have to go look at them if they have them.
Should I decide I want to go bigger later that gives me a chance to reuse what I have too.
Thanks.

Cemex is local and carry a lot of architectural block. If they don't have what you want they can point you other local suppliers. You can also buy resin water features online.
