My new pond (previously the Pond of Death) is finally alive and well and so very entertaining! My thanks to MitchM and all the other members who helped me last year as a newbie. My dozen rosy red minnows have turned into thousands of fry, all over the pond, unbothered by the 19 goldfish, and delightful to watch.
I've also got three small hi-fin banded sharks, six large bullfrog tadpoles who mostly hide, and six crawfish, who also mostly hide.

Thank you. Waterfall isn't built yet, but the fish don't care. The waterfall is kind of an artistic endeavor, and is my husband's project, and I think he needs to be "in the zone" (as well as have the time). My big experiment this spring has been figuring out which plants will grow bare- root in the rocks around the edge of the pond. It's surprising how many have taken to it! What's confusing is that some of the creeping jennys are doing really well, while others are just not, even though they are in the same general environment and were handled the same way. Some right next to each other with very different results.

Looks great! Any tips on the plants you have found success with growing bare root?
The ones that seem to be doing well are:
Cannas
Feather Grass (ponytails)
Golden Sweet Flag grass
Dianthus (surprisingly)
Some of the Creeping Jenny plants (and some not doing so well)
Speedwell
Dwarf Mondo Grass
Calla Lilies
Asiatic Lilies

Surprisingly, the Forget-Me-Nots didn’t survive, nor did the Lithodora
