A pair of Mallards stopped by today and I grabbed the female taking off.

Yes they are beautiful actually. My wife said if we seen them on a trip somewhere with never seeing them you would be impressed.

100% agree! We are over run with whitetail deer in our county, but I will often see cars pulled over to the side of the road taking pictures of them. In my head I'm saying "not from around here, are ya?" When you see them all the time they aren't at all impressive. We see them as a nuisance - either they're eating your landscape or they're jumping out in front of your car on the highway.
