My lotus leaves are floating on the surface of the pond even though the plants have enough stem for the leaves to be above the surface. What could be causing this? I fed them today and moved some to more shallow water to see if that will help.

Some will always float, others will grow up and out of the water.

Thanks Addy! This is my first season overwintering them. When I put them in last year, they already had significant growth.

This is my second year with them, looks all coming back except maybe one. My are hardies, I leave them in the tub outside. My leaves are just now growing above the water level.

I also have 6 that I started from seed this year. They only have a few floating leaves too and are about the same size as yours. I have 5 in tubs and 1 in the pond.
