Looking for small, external, self-priming pump

I am looking for advice on a pump purchase for my mini pond / stream, that is about 100 gallons.

My ideal:

• around 1000 gph
• external (have a young son who won't stay out of the pond!)
• relatively quiet - although we plan to put it in a box of some kind
• extra safety features? (e.g. auto shut-off if it gets clogged or overheats?)
• self-priming

Does such a pump exist? Thank in advance for any advice!

Yes - all of the external self-priming pumps I'm finding online are large capacity (3000, 4000+ gph) - too big for what I need. So I thought I'd ask here.

Maybe what you need is a bigger pond!

if you can get the pump close to the same level as the pond you won't need self priming.

But if you have a little going into a pond keep in mind pumps can grab a hold on you gins and they may not be able to pull away
