This is the result when my wife notices a small flat rock level with the lawn during our spring yard tour and mentions it might be good for the pond...

LOL now that is a real reason for a pond .A rock leads to a hole and then to a pond then later a bigger pond and waterfall and stream and lots of other things like bridges .

Good point. That is the low spot in our yard, always thought it would make a good spot for a bog/rain garden. Another future project.

You never know...I see it all the time! A rock poking out of the ground. I start to dig it up and yep, it's really a boulder. Then I get out my big steel bar and start prying. I live in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania which is loaded with rocks. I call them Pocono potatoes because they see to grow right out of the ground.

Same here I filled two areas of my yard with rocks from the property .Never saw this in NJ
