Never tried this product, but based on what I have read it is basically harmless to higher aquatic life. It is herbal based purported to able to control bacterial, viral and parasitic issues.

Strictly a guess, but I would think that it would have about the same level of effectiveness as Pimafix and Melafix which are also herbal based.
