yesterday i lost a goldfish, it was only about 2 inches long, but im more worried about how it died. i could not find it for a couple days and today i looked and realized that its body was floating on the side of the holding tank....i took it out and upon closer inspection i seen that it looked like it was missing scales on its side, and i mean like the scales were ripped off so that it only had skin....i have had it since april 10 and it has been fine and it wasn't until i added a koi about a week ago that it dissapeared...nothing is wrong with the other fish so that is why i assume it must have been attacked and the only culprit big enough to do that kind of harm had to of been the koi. i did not see the koi doing that to any other fish but im just kind of confused, i did not remember to take pictures of it before i threw it out though

I wouldn't go as far as blame the Koi, when fish die it is not uncommon for scavengers to feed off of the dying fish. All carp are scavengers by nature, If it would have died the goldfish probably would have done the same thing. I would be more worried about your water as it only take a few hours for decomp. to set in, you said missing two days, a lot can happen in that time line.

i see, when i took him out and looked athim i also seen that his belly was really dark, and his insides were pressed against that belly area so i could see the guts and poo and other nasty stuff quite well, the shame is that it was the goldfish who's colors i wanted to stay the same and was really happy with
