Well, I will have pictures to post tonight. But as i was pursuing Craigslist this weekend in the pets section I saw an ad that said "rehoming 2 koi and a pacu"

The guy said these 3 fish were kept together in a 55 gallon aquarium, and he was able to get his "friend's relative" to give them up because they obviously didn't belong together, or belong in a tank that small. So he was looking for a new home for one or all of them.

So I shot him an email and said that I have a pond and could give the koi a new home, sent him a picture of the pond so he knew they would go to a good home, and he emailed back and said he was busy this weekend but would bring them to me tonight after work.

So tonight I will have two more additions to the pond, I have no idea what they look like, or how big they are, but I will add some pictures tonight when I put them into quarantine.

Well, since we made the appointment to put hazel down I have been browsing the pets section once in a while just to see what is out there. I know we aren't going to replace her right away, but we do want to get another puppy at some point. But this weekend I found some fish to rescue instead.

well, pretty perturbed right about now, I was smart enough not to give some random stranger my address when they insisted on dropping the fish off to make sure they were going to a good home. Just gave them my number and said when you are ready to drop them off Monday, call me. SO, its possible this person completely forgot (kind of hard to believe if you have three fish in your house you are trying to "rescue") or it was some sort of scam. Or maybe an emergency came up, but its hard to trust people from Craigslist.

Emailed them again, but no response. Oh well I guess, ad is still up there too.

Craigslist got me 10 beautiful koi measuring 18 to 28 inches. Man was moving out of state. I had to go to his place to get them. I still check every day.

Couple pics of my kids. I got super duper lucky. Don't know to this day why I was picked out of hundreds of inquiries

Maybe this will actually happen, i got an email at 10 pm that said he forgot he worked until 8 last night, but has today off, so i said call me at 5pm and i'll let you know where to go.

He did sent some pictures too, doesn't look like anything to get excited over, but at least they will have a new home.

Wonder how big they are as hard to tell in the pix. Guess koi can change some as they grow so you never know and anyways glad you are giving them a good home. They will love it in your nice pond!

Just from trying to judge around the decorations in the tank I'm guessing just small, 4 inches or so, when they said that it was outgrowing a 55 gallon tank, i was kind of assuming it was going to be some giant fish that couldn't even turn around in there or something. . The one with the most orange could be interesting, I think the other is kind of a dud, but I have the QT tank set up for them to stay in for a while, and then they can join the pond.

Sounds like they are just tiny little things. Much easier to transport and live for awhile in your QT tank. Poor Dudley, you ranking him down like that......................he's gonna show you....................he'll be the prettiest fish in your pond............you'll see :p

I did get them last night, haven't uploaded the pictures yet, will try to do that tonight, but i have to pick up both kids, and make dinner and all that good stuff because mom has a late class tonight. So i usually dont get much done on wednesday nights besides playing around with the kids.

They ended up being about 6 inches long, a little bigger than i thought, and the one with the most orange is pretty good looking.
