I have a KOI Pond and need to remove leaves without hurting my Black Japanese Snails, any suggestions?

A swimming pool net and do it slowly and use buckets to put the leaf stuff in so you can find the snails that may get pulled out with the leaf sludge .I pool net my pond every week so nothing builds up .Do it slowly and put the snails in another bucket with pond water until your done then just put them back in .

Agreed with sissy's suggestion.

Next autumn, as a preventative, get a pond net and install it before the leaves start falling. I have used one the past two Octobers and it keeps about 90% of the leaves out of the pond.

I had the same problem back in the days before I netted my pond. Taking out the muck but keeping the snails, dojo loaches and darters alive.

For now, take the fish out, drain the pond, manually remove the much while keeping the snails.
