From the top looks Matsuba ...

type (color of) can be disputed ..

Ki Matsuba (shades of yellow)
Orenjo Matsuba (shades of orange)
Aka Matsuba (shades of red)

The terms are so inter mixed, I dont know where yellow ends, and red begins ...

I cant really see from the picture but it looks to me to have doitsu scales running down the spine so I would think that it is a orengi doutsu matsuba.
You said that its metallic also so that would be ginrin orengi doutsu matsuba .I think the one below the shusui (blue one) would qualify more as an Aka Matsuba
I could be wrong when it comes to koi classification its sometimes more of an art than a science.

Very pretty fish :cheerful:

Retraction: I saw the other picture in your other thread it's an aka matsuba

Aka Matsuba! Alright! Yes I posted other pics too I should have put some more in this thread. THANK YOU EVERYONE!!!!

The little gin rin platinum ogon is scared of my other fish... keeps hiding behind my plant pots but I do see him come out and swim from time to time but looks like he has a hard time keeping up with the larger fish. Its kind of funny to see his little tail going so fast when swimming but it must be tiring.

My favorite out of all of these is the Goshiki. That red just pops out in my pond.

Oh... I got these from USA Koi in Glassboro, NJ. :)

No ... 1. A Matsuba is supposed to be metallic. 2. Metallic and Ginrin is very different. Think metallic more as in shiney like a metal ... ginrin, think more as in scale shape, like looking through a diamond.

1.) You did see the retraction right? lol

2.) Below is a photo of an aka matsuba. This fish below and the fish below look very similar to me.

like I said I could be wrong there are many ppl with much more experience than me I am still on a learning curve with all of the classifications sometimes my head starts spinning

Maybe I misread your statements. I thought your retraction applied to the fish in the upper left ... my response was referencing the comments regarding the fish below the Shusui. It lacked the black pine cone pattern as far as I could see in the picture, thus not making it a Matsuba of any color group.

We are all on the learning curve, just at different places along the line. NOT in reference to the fish shown in this conversation, but with the various qualities of koi, it is difficult to identify a lot of the colors/patterns as so many are incorrect, we just take our best guesses at which classification they resemble the most ...

I personally still struggle with the basics of ki (yellow), orenji (orange) and aka (red) ... dandilion yellow is YELLOW ... but at what point does yellowy-orange get called orenji, and at what point does an orange red get called aka??? To ME, most of what others call red, I see as ORANGE ... I placed a Goromo who had RED, that was so clearly red, there was no saying it had an orange tone ... that to ME was aka.

The next a white matsuba
Up from that is a doitsu orangi matsuba
the next at 3 oclock is a rather nice looking shusui
Bellow that goshki/koromo
Which brings us back around the clock to the Platinum ogon again .
All very nice koi thanx for sharing
