Hi everyone,
I've been reading your suggestions on different foods to feed fish, its great to see there's so much variety you can feed them. After pricing up some of the food you soon realise nothing is cheap when it comes to fish food....:( but I suppose if you want healthy fish it all comes at a price. Think my fish will be very well fed and I' ll be eating jam sandwiches from now on :( :dead:
Thanks for all the suggestions.

not a problem willo glad to be of help to you dont worry our koi eat better than we do too
The more you get into koi the more expensive it gets Val often says that we could have bought a house on what weve spent on our koi these last 27 years :( its worth it though it really is to give them nothing but the best

I've only been at this pond/koi/goldfish adventure 18 months now and its cost me a fortune......:greedy: everytime I go on the Internet it costs me money. But its worth it our fish although still only small have doubled in size since last year they average about 5-10 inches. We spend hours sat watching them and hopefully many more hours to come :)

I just ordered some Black Water cool season koi food. I want the max growth, but it currently backordered. I've typically fed what the fish hatchery sells, so am anxious to see if the fish like this better, or if there are any other observations from a food switch.

There is nothing more relaxing an tranquil than sitting by the pond during a hot summers day in the shade of a parasol thats what makes the expence is worth it but just add up the cost of food equipment books new koi etc, we were lucky in that we turned our hobby into a self perpetuating one by the sale of our koi when they got too large at 22-24"

Think we got a few years to go until ours get that big :)
Oh boy willo lol you certainly have alot to learn about just how quickly your koi will grow most get to 22" in about 2 years sometimes less.:)
You yourself in the Caymen islands are perfectly placed for this rapid growth with warm water year round:LOL::D(y)
Admitedly you do get some that either by genetoc quirk or stunting prior to your ownership stay small but the norm is 2 years :D
We look forwards to seeing your 22" koi sometime in the not "too", distant future in all their majesty
Some koi will turn into hug monsters at 30"+ we call them Jumbo koi
Dave;)
