Hi. I hope this is the right place. I have around 15 Koi in my back yard pond for the last 20 years. Well the pond is falling apart and the water fall leaks. The wife and I are just going to go with a new water fall and a gravel type pond. I have the Koi and only found one rescue sight and have heard nothing from them in last 6 days since posting on ther web site. I hope this is the right one, Contact me at my email address for further information. The fish range from 8 inches to over 18.

Gravel type pond? Do you mean disappearing waterall and eliminate the pond entirely?

Check about putting notices up at your local garden centers .That is how I got rid of all my baby fish .I was thinking to the future also going pondless

Many places especially fish businesses, tend not to rescue koi nowadays for one simple reason the CyHV3 - Koi Herpes Virus, you see they cannot be sure even though you've kept your koi for over 15 years now that there isnt a latent or sleeper CyHV3 - Koi Herpes virus.
Given the right sort of stressor this virus can come to the fore even after 15 years of being KHV free , it happened to our Plymouth Koi Keepers Society health official in last year costing him a collection of koi that had he had been keeping for 20 years and he had not added to that pond in over 10 years he was totally devastated by it

That is the sorta thing that would end me keeping pond fish again. Many of my first koi were dirt cheap mutts bought from garden centers,I'd bet that time bomb is in my pond.

Believe you me when I say its made our entire koi section think why you ask ?
Well its because we all bought our koi from the same dearship as our health officer did at the same time , he hasnt placed any koi in his pond for 10 years and he suddenly goe's down with it [it happened after they bred whilst they where in Birmingham] the stress was such that it activated the latent virus which at that time non of us thought remotely possible .
Stress however should be avioded in your pond where ever possible .
