This is related to comments in a separate thread concerning Nitrate levels. Nothing scientific, but I would be interested in seeing-
What is the highest Nitrate level that you have ever detected in your pond(s) through water testing over the years?

I don't think I've ever had more than a trace in the pond. For either the QT (or inside tank?), maybe 80....? Is that how the #'s go?

I use API test strips which may not be as accurate as the drop kits, but nitrate has always registered 0.

I have not had my pond for very long but my nitrate level is always zero when I check it. My aquariums are a different story and usually read anywhere between 20 and 40.

The first time I check the nitrate level in my pond and got zero I thought I had done something wrong or that the test was inaccurate.

I assume the number of live plants in my pond are the reason I don't see nitrate levels? Well that and the routine water changes.
