Woke up this morning and went to check out the pond. Since I just had the problem with the snakes yesterday, I wanted to see how everything was. It was eerily quiet. My waterfall was not going!!! My first thought was my pump died. Then I looked down on my deck and saw that someone had unplugged my pump! WHY??? I immediately plugged it back in and went to check on the pond! 3 floating fish!! I am devastated. Who would do such a thing?

I went to bed at about 10:30 last night. About 15 minutes later, I heard the gate to our fence open (or close). I figured it was my husband. Guess it wasn't. The bozo had to open my gate, climb up 3 deck steps and walk right in front of my glass french doors leading to the deck. The plug is in a GFI so it takes a little force to get it in and out. The plug didn't slip out, nor did an animal hit it. Someone intentionally came into my yard last night to unplug my pond. Nothing else in the yard was touched, nothing. I did have the police come out to see if there has been anything going on in the neighborhood - he said no.

I am still missing 2 fish. Not sure if they are dead under the plants, hiding or eaten by snakes. My husband is even wondering now if someone intentionally put snakes at my pond...

Motion activated security light would be first thing I would put up. Second, would be a webcam/security camera set up to take images every second when the security light comes on.

Could be a new neighbour that does not find the sound of the waterfall soothing?

Whoever it is is local, watching your bedroom light to time their entrance

Obviously, assuming they are malicious and devious they may lay low after all the fuss before trying it again, or worse

Perhaps you can borrow or buy an animal video cam that works on motion and one still dry night, arrange your fountain a bit louder than usual

Then find a judge whose quick at issuing restraining orders...

nails in a board sticking up when you here him scream in pain he will think twice the next time .I had a motion light on my side porch but could not see it from my bedroom so got one that has an alarm on it when it lights up and you can plug an interior light into it also , I just plug it in the wall where it will line up with the light .

I only have one neighbor that could possibly hear my falls, and we get along great with them - an older couple that we hang out with som etimes. I do have a trail cam, and I set it up last night. The only thing on there this morning was an animal I couldn't make out b/c I setup the camera in my son's window between the window and the screen. When the infrared lights came on, they lit up the window screen...ugh! I figured if I put the cam outside, whomever is monkeying around might hear or see the cam and take it, so I need somewhere safe to put it. We are also going to put a lock on our chain link fence, so if anyone wants to come into the back yard, they will need to climb the fence, which will be inconvenient for them, but also for us. I like the idea of a board w/nails - might have to try that.

carpet tack strips, you don't really notice them, but boy are they sharp! In arizona we started putting them on top of the block wall to keep the coyotes from walking the wall.

I use the qsee Sissy, it works great, easy to set up. I want to upgrade mine to more cameras and maybe higher def ones. If you have a smart phone they have a app where you can dial in and check your pond/property from anywhere. Of course for that you need always on internet.

I like the fact that the cameras were night vision and could view out 100 ft and that it had the monitor .I got one with 4 monitors and hoping that is enough .I will place the monitor on a swivel in the ceiling between the living room and the kitchen so I can see it from both area's .I was surprised when they put it from 499. down to 299 .I thought 499 was a great price .

They are always going on sale as they come out with new and better. You can set it so each camera will flash full screen on the monitor if something happens, or have it where you can all 4 cameras at once. I have mine flash, constantly changing when it is windy, but it does get your attention, that is how I picked up the heron and the red fox in the yard. No criminals yet.......lol

Like that idea addy I will probably set mine that way also .I got the rubber plugs to drill through the house and had to get a long bit for the drill since the walls are so thick .The bit had to be over 12 inches long and ended up costing me over 28 dollars for 2 of them and they were onsale too .
