Hello,

I will do my best to ask a question. My English is not very good, and the 'pond language' is completly new to me.

I just started my own pond in my back garden. Just a pre-shaped 500 l pond. The first couple of weeks the water was very clear.

When I placed a large plant in the pond (in a basket, just as bought in the shop), the water got turbid (is this the word for not clear?). This happend becuase I moved things in the pond.

After three days it looks like the sides of the pond, got all dirty because of the dirt the plant was loosing when placing. But now it starts to turn green and the water is stil more turbid then before.

Is it normal the sides of your pond don't stay as clean as you bought the pond? Or is it algue (seeweed)?

Welcome to the Forum! Give it time and the water will clear. The sides will have the green film, this is normal.
