is now a good time to put some goldfish or shunbunkins or maybe koi in my pond or should i wait for spring? my pond is holding water well . i live in south carolina zone 7a

Much depends on the temperature of your pond. A big temperature change can be hard on fish, but if you can slowly acclimate them to the temperature they would likely be fine.

How big is your pond? You say "maybe koi" - is your pond big enough for koi?

How many fish are we talking about? Essentially you need to take them from the temperature they are at to the temperature they are going as slowly as possible. It may be as simple as floating the bag on the water. Or it may take temporarily housing them in a tank where you can slowly reduce the water temp.

Adding fish this time of year will stress them out . What ever the temp of the water of the delivery is you have to get them to a similar temp in a larger area then you have to drop the temps down to where the pond is. but if your water is still in the 60's or 70 's maybe it wont be that bad lets just say i wouldn't go dumping 700 bucks on a koi and try it.
