my name is matt and im from north central ia. my wife and i have had a small 4x6 pond for about 4 years and every year like to change something with it. this year we decided to go bigger, so we moved our small preformed pond and made that our new bog pond and then dug a 13x15 pond with rubber liner. we have a 3000 gal pump in deepest area of main pond pumping into bog thur manifold buried in rock and pea gravel, then waterfall coming from bog going to main pond.

we are new to all this and enjoy messing with it. i did quite a bit research before starting however not enough. i liked the idea of a more natural pond with natural filteration so went with the bog idea. i am hoping it works out for us. the problems i am having i posted in the construction forum under pond ?'s.

please chime in with any suggestions.

thanks,
matt

welcome aboard Matt!:regular_waving_emot
I would like to make one suggestion, Place your pump up on a empty plastic milk crate or similar. this will help to prevent total water removal if you happen to have a hose come lose or a leak, raising the pump off the bottom gives the fish at least that much water to live in if something should happen, also prevents your bog area from getting as clogged up with debris from the bottom of your pond.
