Turtle Keeper + CPL(H)
The turtle who came in with the major shell fracture is continuing to improve and is doing really well with coping with the repair and meds. I am truly surprised with how quickly he has become comfortable with me and trusting. Usually they take months to become that tame and that is if they are healthy and have not experienced any trauma at the hands of a human. Because of how serious the injury was and the fact that he will need special care for the rest of his life I have decided to admit him to the sanctuary as a permanent resident unless someone has the means to care for him in the future. Because of the size of the fractures and the area he will probably need about 4 more epoxy cast seals made as the shell heals and most likely will have to have 2 artificial scutes remain permanently to seal the shell and prevent infection or re-injury. I named him Andreas which is a Greek name meaning strong. As soon as he heals a little more I will post his image but right now it is not a very pretty sight. Thanks to all those who support the rescue in anyway. The turtles and myself are very grateful
