I would like to build an in pond skimmer to keep the surface of my pond clean. Has anyone had any luck making one themselves and how did you do it? I have heard it has something to do with the door that makes them successful Thanks for all the help. This year my pond is finally balanced and clear.

I have a utility sink similar to this that I am going to use for a skimmer. Without legs or faucet. Along the line of this These sinks have gone up some since I got mine. But a used one would work. The hard part is getting the liner sealed to the tub. With Waterbugs idea of putting the liner under the box you do not have that problem. It could be used with this too. But then you still have to seal the liner to the exit pipe on the box but that is easy with EPDM.
