Hello Guys and Gals, Just wanted to share a pretty sweet deal I found at a Local "Big Lots" here in Panama City where I found a Pondmaster 500GPH Pump and Filter Kit for... $25!

Now, I originally walked in there to find an inexpensive Large planter to make a filter when low and behold the brand "Pondmaster" stuck out like a sore thumb from across the Planter Isle. I have a Pondmaster 950gph Pump that is by far my best pump and is an inline pump and came with a 5 year warranty as well, but I paid $90 on E-bay for it brand new as they don't seem to be cheap pumps.
Big Lots had this Item listed at a $130 original price tag, so the skeptic I am I pulled the same item up on my phone and sure enough they actually go for a little less on Amazon and a little more on other sites, so... I BOUGHT IT! Here is the Item: http://www.amazon.com/Pondmaster-02215-Pond-Filter-Fountain/dp/B0006GXB5E/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

The filter I could care less about, but the pump is well worth it as I was in need of another around that size and the Inline 3/4 male to 3/4 slip on fittings are almost non existent in local hardware stores around here. I guess I could give the new unit a go in the new 600 gallon pond and see how it filtrates with 3 fish and some plants along with a Beckett 650gph pump with a slip on 8" Foam prefilter. anyways if you need something like this I would check your local Big Lots and see if they carry it, I know mine only have 2 left! :)

Good deal there Jason do you have a bottom drain on your pond as this is the purpose of an inline pump.
The one that supplies our pond is an Oase 3500 it fits in at the end of our 4 filters and just before the U/V-C.
However you got yourself a deal, just make sure it works propperly other wise accidents may well happen

Tested it out last night and everything worked, I will tell you, this 500gph pump seems like it has more flow to it then my SunSun 500gph pumps and it very heavy and well built! Now in time I will see if this little filter will work :fingersx:

No bottom drain Dave, I will have 1 or 2 when I build my 5,000 gallon pond though!

If I don't have my wires crossed PondMaster is Eugene Danner. I have a 250gph that I am currently using to fill tanks. It must be 20 years old. It is on its 2nd or 3rd impeller.

As long as you keep the dirt out from between the magnet and the cylinder it rests in they will last a long long time.

Yep HTH, It is Eugene Danner, I never knew that! I looked up reviews a people praise his pumps as some have stated they had them for upwards of 20+ years! Very Good Deal, Now, If only I had an "Ollies" here where I live...

Thanks for the tip Jason, going to check my Big Lots today after work...not that I need a pump but I'm sure I could find a use for it or emergency backup.

Big congrats on the engagement! My wife and I married just before I went into basic training and will be married 11yrs the end of August. We bought our dream home last fall which included the pond (something I have always wanted).
