Humming Birds Visiting the Pond

My wife has really gotten into sitting outside and photographing the pond. By far her favorite visitor has been the ruby hummingbirds that have been visiting over the past 2 months. The other day they were using my dragon fly sticks to perch between feedings and my wife was able to capture some awesome pictures of two of the males. She attempted to get some pictures of them fighting but was unsuccessful.

I have cardinal flower planted above and along my waterfall and it is just beginning to bloom. Hopefully when it does she can get some pictures with the waterfall in the foreground.

Hummingbirds are some of my favorites! And they will love your cardinal flower when it blooms. They say the cardinal flower is the truest red of any blooming flower. We sit 3 feet away from ours on our bench and the hummingbirds are all over it - same time every day. You could set your clock by them!

Love watching hummingbirds very nice. Hope to share that experience in the future.

We’ve had a few scouts buzz through the yard in the past couple of weeks, but no “permanent” visitors yet. Hopefully.....soon.....
