My Dad told me a story from back in the 30's when he was a teen that they had to crawl out of the second story window and shovel down to the front door so that they could open it and shovel a path to the outhouse. The power line poles were just short sticks rising out of the snow drifts. But, I cannot imagine 20 feet of snow from one storm today. Hope that never ever happens here!
