Hey guys need a few suggestions. I am planning to re- do my garden or say beautify my yard. I have been going through a lot of plans and I am a bit confused!!! Could you input some innovative ideas. I have already spoke to a residential landscaping company and I like those designs in the tile : Strathcona :Backyard reno ( http://infinitygardens.ca/residential/gallery ) I feel a garden with patio design would be perfect. What do you guys feel? Any other innovative ideas or suggestions?

Need to know more about what you would like and where you live.
Fish, no fish, water feature only, high maintenance, low maintenance, ect...?

Easy design. Just make sure to use 6x6 for the uprights to get the scale right for the pergola. As to the gardens, de-sod, rototill, lay high quality landscape fabric, plant, add 2-3" mulch (I prefer black cedar).

Think about what you want, I prefer 'country style' over perfectly square 'professional' lines. I've seen some really beautiful designs, but seem more like public areas than home. And yea, it's a good idea to think future maintenance. How hard would it be too leave town for a week and not have it suffer? Good luck with your project.

Garden watering isn't a big deal. Simply incorporate drip irrigation hoses into the landscape design with an electronic water turn on/shut off. Stuff gets watered ever day, every other day, twice a week, once a week, whatever.

Think before you build. Budget, budget, budget..................
