Hi, my name is ali and i'm based in Gloucester in the UK.

my pond is about 3 years old is about 1 meter round and 90cm deep half above ground and half below with a brick parapet wall.

it's home to a water lily and a bullrush along with alot of unidentified weed.
it also houses some shubunkins which are my current problem, i was told it should house 6 based on it's dimensions, so we bought 6, last year they bred and we now have about 30 baby fish in addition to at least 5 of the origional (1 was always very elusive so i might still be in there its hard to tell.

unfortunatly i don't think the pond is able to cpoe with this many fish and has now gone a very unattractive shade of green, i've cleaned the fliters but nothing makes any difference.

i additionally cleaned out a lot of weed early in the year it had completly clogged up and the fish were struggling.

my question is what do i do with the fish? i've asked around and nobody wants them, i can't bring myself to let them loose as i'm sure they would die, but i don't think i can keep them either without causing them more trauma?

help needed please

Ali

Have you tried an ad giving them away or your local pet shop or just word of mouth .

Don't let the loose. As you can see, goldfish and koi multiply like crazy. It wouldn't be good for a natural eco system.

Do you have craigslist over there. That's how I sell my koi. Goldfish might have to give away because you can buy them at the store for 20 cents.
