Hi everyone, new to this forum and was looking for a better way to get all the gunk out from the bottom of my pond. Removed all the plants and tried to rake out as much as possible but the water gets so cloudy from walking around I missed a lot. Any suggestions????? Thx...

When I clean mine I use a swimming pool leaf net, do one section at a time, if it gets too cloudy to see, stop and wait till it settles again.

Thanks for the quick responses! Is there a special type of swimming pool net that will handle the weight of wet leaves?

When you are done getting all the big gunk out take some white quilt batting and put it in a plastic laundry basket or pot under your waterfall or a hose from your pump and let the water run over that stuff and it will clean out the tiny particles really well. You will have to rinse it off now and then and do it again and again till the water is clear.

I buy the deep net and the shallow one .The deep net is great for catching fish and the shallow one is good for pulling light stuff off the bottom of the pond and deep one is great for picking up alot of stuff off the bottom and telescoping handle makes it nice to reach farther .But you do have to be careful you don;t scoop up baby fish .So you have to look carefully in the net before you dump it

welcome

Kimber mom...
I would think any pool net used for skimming surface of water is good to use... unless the bottom is thick with gunk then the net might bend a little where it connects to pole..but think the fine netting should handle it just scoop under debris and raise to surface slowly i would think.. other than that a vacuum made for cleaning ponds would work but they are costly.. and as Carolyn said, welcome neighbor
