You're so right. I need to think of doing something bigger, and fast. My main problem is that I live in a gated community on the golf course. So, with the convenants and restrictions I can't put in a large pond in the yard. (A swimming pool is ok, but that's all). So, my pond is actually part of my patio. I could take out the pre-formed pond and dig out a new pond that is larger and use a liner, etc. Right now I have room for the preformed pond, a small waterfall and lots of plants planted around the pond. If I do away with the plants and put potted ones around the new pond actually up on the patio I think I could probably make a larger one for the koi. I don't know what I would do with them when I dig the new pond! They are really shy and skittish. I can't even imagine trying to catch them to move them to a "holding pond" when the new one is being built! So, thanks for the input, I'm looking forward to learning a lot! I guess I will have to start a new thread and ask lots of questions from you seasoned pros!
