I've been an avid lurker for a while now and decided to jump on in. With the help of this site and others like it. I'm a proud owner of a ~3500 gallon koi pond that is above and below ground with all my koi and waterlilies that I've raised over the past 2 years.

A lot of people can't keep lilies and koi together.
A lot of people can't keep lilies and koi together.
I did at first and then I started feeding more and added a lot of hyacinth as distraction plants. Now they don't really bother them.

neat they love those roots!
I usually keep my hyacinth in a floating ring with a mesh bag protecting most of them and let the koi feed on the overflow
