Hi,
I have just bought a new pump and external filter, the pump comes with a T piece that allows a fountain and hose output to an external filter. I have built a waterfall and don't want to use the fountain pieces at all but the fountain although it has an adjuster, wont totally turn off. Can you buy an adapter that will allow the output of the pump to only feed a hose or do all these pumps need to have a fountain connected as well?
This is the pump I have - https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/fishkeeper-craft/downloads/Aquagarden-Pond-Pump-2500.pdf

It's hard to tell from the diagram but it looks like the T fitting screws into something. If that is the case don't use the fitting but instead, get plastic male fitting and run the piping off of that. Or get a plug that goes into the fountain side to shut off the flow. You can also get a valve to control the flow. Take the pump to a hardware store and they should be able to st you up. There should be no need to run the fountain.

Managed to get it working tonight - had an adapter for a slightly smaller hose but managed to secure it with a hose clip
