HELP: pressure filter leaking all around

Hello forum,

Long story short, I've got a german pressure filter (Aquaforte BF12000, I think), which is sometimes rebranded as Jebao on amazon.
Yesterday I replaced the UV lamp, closed the filter as usual, sealed with the metal ring and reconnected to the pipes.
However it seems that now there's too much pressure inside and water basically "lifts" the top part and there's a massive leak all around.

No need to say, I cleaned the inside very carefully, and there's no obstruction.
Nothing else has changed in the meanwhile...

So, I'm totally puzzled and I only have two ideas:
1) I probably accidentally moved the screw around the pressure indicator (which wasn't working anyway); this might have worked also as a sort of pressure valve...
2) it's unlikely but possible that I accidentally deformed the metal ring, but I don't believe it's the case, since I know as a fact that the filter didn't leak even without it

any help is appreciated

There is a rubber gasket between the lid and canister. Sounds like it is damaged or missing.
I would replace the screw for the indicator. Check the rating for the filter and make sure you don't exceed GPH on your pump.

do you know if the pressure indicator must be fully screwed tight?
I think I see a difference if I partially un-screw it.

Is the leak from the lid or the indicator?

the leak is from the lid. as I mentioned, it's like water is lifting up the upper part of the filter (which is something that never happened before).
however, I was conjecturing this may be due to internal air pressure that increased when I tightened the pressure indicator (not sure if this is possible, but I can feel some air coming out of the pressure indicator when the filter fills with water)

apparently my model does not have any rubber ring around.
however, what I find puzzling is that I opened the tank, replaced the lamp, closed the tank again and it started leaking massively.
no clue what I could have done wrong.

anyway, it seems a pressure problem, e.g. maybe something I tightened too much, air does not escape properly and the tank does not self-seal.

I believe your o-ring hopped out while you were servicing the unit. If it's not laying around the yard, maybe it fell inside the filter.
I would apply some vaseline or plumber's grease in the o-ring groove to keep it in place while you put the cover back on.

I used to have a Jabao pressure filter and it had an o-ring and that big metal clamp/ring, just as you describe. My o-ring had deformed and stretched out. I was able to get a replacement online.
